The
paths of Entropia Universe
When
you arrive to Entropia Universe you end up at
Port Atlantis on the continent
Eudrioa on the planet Calypso. When you arrive there are several
different paths that you can take in your new life. I will try to
explain as easy as possible the different paths. And keep in
mind that you always can change direction or mix the paths. Keep
in mind that there are a very few persons who really earn money
in Entropia Universe.

Sweat
Start with sweating and
while you do that you will gain skills. When you have
enough sweat sell it to
other players. |
|
Deposit
Use your credit card or some of the other ways of
depositing to get a good
start. Buy weapons and other equipment in Trade
terminal, Auction or shops. If you don't like to wait
for the skills to rice, use
skill implants to skill
faster.
|
|
Deposit big
Do a huge deposit and invest in a business like a Land
Area, Hangar, and Shop etc. Don't forget to use some of
the income to also have fun. |

|
|
 |
|
 |
This is the slow way to reach your goals in EU, but it's
for free. When you have enough
skill and money you can test the different
professions.
If you really enjoy the game you will probably go on and
become a depositor after a while, but sweating is a good
start. |
|
This is the fast track to have fun. Decide how much you
would like to spend/month and keep to that plan. It's
very easy to start deposit more than you really planned
in the beginning. |

|
I
strongly recommend everyone to read guides,
forums, print a map
and get as much TP's as possible
during the first months. Make friends and find you a good
mentor, do not accept the first
mentor invite. Join a society but do not take the first you
are invited to. Many people share my opinion that you should
spend your first weeks as a sweater to get the feeling for the
game, some don't.
Most
players will after a while pick a main focus profession. I try
to explain the different ones below.
|
Hunter |
A hunter is someone who
focuses on hunting. A hunter can if he is successful
earn money from the loots he gets from the animals he
kill. To be really successful you need good (read
expensive)
equipment and high skills.
If you like to hunt humans instead of animals you can do
PvP. There are
PvP areas where you can loot
others. To be a hunter you need to know some about
weapons and
weapon attachments.
|
|
Miner |
A miner is someone who focuses on finding
ore and
enmatters. To be a miner
also involves hunting since
you for sure will need to protect yourself from the
animals out in the outback. One way to earn money is to
become a contract miner, but this requires good skills
and good equipment to be succesfull.
|
|
Crafter |
A crafter is someone who focuses on
crafting different
items. There are weapons, attachments, tools, clothes
etc to craft. The best is to pick one of those and start
skilling. A really skilled crafter who deposits in the
beginning could earn a lot. But keep in mind that most
of the best crafters in the game spend several 1000’s
PED per day on their skilling. To sell your stuff
without any fuzz you need some kind of shop.
|
|
Taming |
Taming is not so common to be the main profession, but
it could be. A tamer tames and trains animals. You will
get loots when you tame the animal. Training will only
give you skills. And so far animals are useless.
|
|
Trader |
A trader is someone who deposit or use his hard earned
sweat-money to trade other players. This could be done
person-to-person or
with a shop. The trader buy low quantities cheap and
then sell in bigger bulks for a higher price. The buying
is done person-to-person and the selling often is done
in the auction or in a shop. One way is to find a
crafter or beautician who demands a certain kind of
material, buy that material for a low price and then
sell to the crafter or beautician.
|
|
Beautician
|
A beautician is someone who focuses on hair and body
sculpting. To be a beautician you need to own an
estate, a shop or
apartment. When you have the estate you then need some
really expensive equipment and a friend who you can
train on.
|
|
Colorer |
A colorer is someone who focuses on
coloring things for
other players. To be successful you need very high
skills in this profession. It's often combined
with
cloths crafting.
|
|
Medic |
You could make your way in the game as a
medic, invest in a good FAP and offer your healing
services to hunters and miners.
