Crafting guide

If you don't like running around and kill things or dig in the ground crafting is the profession for you. Or you just have killed to much animals and have your inventory and storage filled up with interesting materials and is curious of what you can do whit them. Crafting is a profession divided in several different paths. You can make, clothes, weapons, tools, attachments, furniture and components (did I miss something?). In this guide I will use pictures from tailoring, but the way you do it is the same.

What do I need to be a crafter?
The first thing you need to get is a Blueprint book and some Blueprints. These are bought from a Technician (see Terminal guide) and are really cheap. The basic ones cost almost nothing. After you got the Blueprint book and a Blueprint you need to get some materials. These materials are refined materials. To refine you need a refiner. There are some different refiners. If you do not hunt or mine you need to buy the materials instead of making them by your self. Buy things you do in the Auction or on the street.

Blueprint book
The Blueprint book is where you store your blueprints. You buy the first level books of a Technician.

Blueprint
Blue prints are bought from the technician and you will later when your skill is good enough loot more blueprints when you craft.

Energy refiner
Refines Enmatter to materials you need for crafting. These are mainly used for tools, armour and weapons. A basic Energy refiner you buy in the trade terminal.

Mineral refiner
Refines ores to ingots. These are mainly used for tools, armour and weapons. A basic Ore refiner you can buy in the trade terminal.

Tailoring Material refiner
The material refiner refines your Molisk tooth to Molisk buttons and so on. Use it to make materials used mostly in tailoring. A basic Material refiner you can buy in the trade terminal.

How does the Blueprint book work?
When you have the book and want to put a Blueprint in it you just flip to the right page and drag the blueprint to the right place. The books have different levels printed on them I, II, III, IV etc. You can only put a level I blueprint in a level I blueprint book. There is different kind of books. One for tailoring, weapons etc. Illustration

How does the refiner work?
Put the refiner on your Quick bar and activate it. When you see the refiner interface you put the material you wish to refine in the right type of refiner. You will see if the material you got fit in the refiner you have or not. A text will say "This item can be refined" or similar. When the material is in the refiner press refine button. You need to know that for some materials you need more than one to make 1 refined. Like with wool, you need several wool to make 1 wool cloth.

What materials do I need?
If you right click the blueprint you will get an information screen. In that you will se what materials is needed if you press the text button. Refine or buy these materials and you are ready to start crafting.

Now when I have all materials and the book, what do I do?
Now when you have all you need you need to go to a crafting machine. As you know there are several paths in crafting and there is one machine for each of them. This is not important, you can use any craft machine, and they work all the same. There are even personal crafting machines. There is only a few of them, but some people have a crafting machine in there estates. How cool is that? Just pick the first crafting machine you find and double-click it to activate. Once it's started you need to open your Blueprint book and choose which blueprint to use. Double-click the blueprint and it will end up in the crafting machine interface. Close the Blueprint book by clicking the cross in top right corner. Illustration

Time to add the materials!
In the crafting interface you will see which materials are needed to work with, there are some "must" materials and sometimes additional materials that you choose your self. For example in cloths crafting you can add any type of skin. Snablesnoot, Sabamuka, Atrax etc. Remember that this is linked to your crafting skills, so in the beginning you might just be able to add Snablesnoot skin and not Atrax. But when your skills increase you will be able to add the Atrax skin. For each material you add the screen in the middle gets a green line. When all materials are in the machine you can decide if you like to have many items or good condition. In the beginning it's no good idea to try to get many. You will see the success rate on the bar that follows the left side. On some items like armour and clothes you need to set if you would like a male or female result. The gender is chosen when the button is down. Illustration

Let’s craft, enough talking!
Now when all materials and settings are done it's time to press the Manufacture button. If you are lucky you will get one or several items in the manufacturing loot window. In some cases the machine says, can't operate or something, you just wait and press again. If you are unlucky you will get something called residue in your craft loot window, this item you can put in tt to get some money back, not much though. Or the other way is to boost the condition of the crafted item. Put the residue together with the other materials needed, and if you succeed you will get items with an higher condition. When doing a HOf the extra condition is not counted for. In worst case the machine will say that the manufacturing didn't work and the materials are used.

Success Residue

Good luck!
