Ore mining

One of the things you can mine in Entropia Universe is Ore. Ore is different kind of  metals. Mining is not as easy as hunting and is more expensive to get started with, but if you succeed you can make good mining loots. It's quite expensive, it will cost 1 PED for each try. And do not expect to find anything the first 10 times, but if you are very lucky you will find first time you try.

How to mine?
To mine you need some equipment to be able to do this.
You need three things to get started:

Ore finder, this is the tool you use to find ore it uses bombs to find ore deep in the ground. You can buy one in some (not all)TT terminals or in Auction. To use it drag it to your quick bar and buy some bombs. When you have bombs in inventory and the detector in your quick bar you just hit the defined key once to activate the tool, then once again to drop a bomb. The bomb starts to beep, move a few meters and press detonate, the bomb detonates and then your ore detector is shown and tells you if you where lucky or not. if you are lucky it will point in which direction your finding is. Run in that direction and when you reach the place the detector screen will be replaced with a loot window telling that you have claimed a recourse. A claim rod is placed near you, mark that and start using the next tool.

Eart extractor, this is the tool which will dig up the stuff you found. Put this tool on your quick bar and when you need to use it hit the key defined to it. First you have to mark a claim rod. You can buy a basic earth extractor in some TT or you can buy a really good one in the Auction.

Seismic bomb, to be able to use the ore detector you need bombs, the bombs you can buy in some tt terminals. When operating the detector you will release a bomb. You need to run away some meters to be able to detonate the bomb. The detector then uses the blast to locate ore.

Claim rod, this is the marker of your findings and is not something you buy. The detector will place this for you.

Finder amplifier, this is an attachment to your finder. It will hopefully help you find bigger quantities of ore. To attach it you drag it on to your finder, when the finder turns green you drop it. The amplifier you buy in auctions, shops or direct from another player.

What should I buy to get started?
A good starter kit looks like this:
- Omegaton Detectonator MD10
- Genesis Star Earth Extractor ME/01
- Omegaton Seismic Bomb (you will need several)

How do I find the most?
If you look at the stats of your detector you will see what reach it has. Try to drop the bombs so they match the detectors range, not to far away and not to close to each other. When you find something, leave the claim rod and go a bit in each direction from it and drop new bombs, if you are lucky you will find a vein. The vein you can follow until it ends. If you assume you did fiend a end of the vein you only need 2-3 probes to find in which direction the vein is pointing from your first claim rod. When you have marked the vein start to extract the ore. Some people do think that the vein has a curve, but I am not sure of this, you have to find for your self. Some people believe that if you do not find anything after dropping 4-6 bombs in a row you should change direction and try again. I'm not so sure about this, but I think there are as many theories as players. There is also amplifiers for your finder. The amplifier is attached to your finder and will help you find bigger quantities. To attach the amplifier you have to drag it on to your finder.

Other things that will help you
If you do find a lot of ore it could be good to have an ore refiner, an ore refiner will refine your ore to something else and will have a lesser weight than the original stuff you got. If you find a big amount of ore it's not so fun to stand there extracting with your basic ore extractor that only pulls up 10-18 at each time. It will take you hours to get all up. If you think you will strike big, get good tools that will make the job for you. Better tools than the ones in tt you will find in the auction or in shops.

Good luck!
