Money in Entropia Uiverse

The game of Entropia Universe is free, but as you know you need money to play the game of Entropia Universe, you could do without money but then the only thing you can do is to chat with your friends and run around a bit. You need money to buy better equipment, clothes, flowers to your girlfriend, pay the rent of the apartment or the fancy boots you really need.

Currency
The currency used is called Project Entropia Dollars, PED. There are also Project Entropia Cents, PEC. 100 cents = 1 PED. If you have more than 1000 cents or dollars in your inventory, they will be showed as 1K. If you have for example 1321 it will show as 1K cents. So if you sell something worth 12 PEDs do not be surprised if you are offered 1K of cents. The PEDs have a fixed currency to US dollar; $1 = 10 PED. When you transfer from credit card there will be some fee so in the end you get something like 9.7 to 9.8 PEDs for each dollar so 10 dollars give you abhout 98 PED. I think this amount changes over time. So don't take this for a fact, see for your self.

PED card
Everyone gets a PED card when they start to play, this card can not be dropped or sold. The card is like a wallet where you can put and extract your money. To put money in the card in game just drag your PEDs or PECs to the card and it will turn green. Drop the money on the green card. PED card is used in game to buy and pay for different things. In Trade terminals, Repair terminals and Auctions. Trade terminals is the only terminal who accepts other things than money, all other take money from your PED card when you have to pay. When you put something in the Trade terminal to pay for something, the exceeding amount will transfer to your PED card. For example you need 100 medium ammo cells, you pay with some wool worth 1.3 PEDs, and the 30 cents not used will transfer to your PED card. The money you earn when selling items in Auction will also transfer to your PED card automagic. If you need to transfer money from your PED card just double-click it and a interface for transfer will show. Put in the amount you will transfer and choose PED or PEC for type and then press accept. The money will move from your PED card to your inventory.

How to earn ingame money
There are some different ways of making money inside the game. The first thing that people usually do if they do not deposit money is to start gathering sweat from animals. See sweat guide. You can also find, fruit, dung and oil. See fruit & dung guide and oil guide. When you have gathered some sweat, or found a lot of the other free things you have probably sold those and got some money. Now your hard working days are over, time to hunt or mine. When you hunt and if you are lucky you will get some loot in form of money. The money from loot will end up in your inventory and if you like you just drop them on your PED card. If you are mining you will hopefully find some ore or enmatters. If you sell them to another player he or she will probably pay you with PEDs, these also end up in your inventory and you probably will need to drag them to your PED card. Another way to earn money inside the game is to become a trader. You buy stuff for a low price and sell for higher or you refine them into some other more valuable form and sell that. If you trade person to person your money will end up in inventory and if you sell in auction you will get on your PED card. If you sell in auction you will have to pay 1 PED for each item you sell. Fruit, sweat, dung, skins, ore and enmatter and equal things is sold in bulk.

What is my item worth?
 Most of the items in Project Entropia all have a value. If you right click the item in your inventory you will see how much it's worth. If you put this item in the Trade terminal you will get this amount on your PED card. If you sell in auction you can put what ever price you like for your item, but do not expect that you will sell it for fantasy prices, but it could happen if someone really needs that item and there isn't anyone else selling it. When you trade items with other persons the price of the item is often stated as tt + 1 or something like that. That means that he or she will sell it for the worth of your item if you had put it in Trade terminal plus 1 PED. Sometimes they say they buy for 108%, which mean that they will pay you the Trade terminal worth multiplied with 1.08. To know what your item is worth you need to follow the market or pay a visit to the www.mytwopecs.com web site. Some items like sweat, fruit and dung has no worth but are sold anyway. Check the same place for this, but you need to know that if you have small amount you will probably not be paid the highest price.

Deposit
If you do not have time to gather sweat for 2 months you can deposit, transfer money from the real world to Entropia Universe. The transferred money will show on your PED card. To deposit you log in to Entropia Universe web site, click deposit and connect one ore more  credit cards to your account. When you have made one payment you can transfer from that card from inside game. To do so you need to have received one bill from your credit card company, on that bill Mind Ark have put a number you have to state to be able to transfer money in to game. In my ears this sound a bit complicated and I think the most secure way is to deposit from outside the game. You can also use one of the following ways of payment:

Transfer money out from game
I have never made this so I don't really know how. And most of you will probably not do this. I guess you have to have a PE activated card to make a transfer out from Entropia Universe. If you know how, please do a note about how to do in my guestbook.
