Scanning guide
In Entropia Universe there are a tool
called Scanner. For some it's a total waste of money to get one
and others find it quite useful .
What does the scanner do?
If you equip the scanner and point it towards another player or
mob you will get some extra information. Use it like you use a
weapon. You will also gain skills in scanning human, animal,
mutant or robot. You will also gain some other skills such as
biology and perception among others.
What information do I get?
Depending on what you point your scanner towards you gets
different results.
|
Avatar |
You will know the avatars prof
standing, streangth, agility health level etc. And in
the bottom window you can see what clothes, armour and
equipment the avatar has put on. |
|
Animal, Mutant and Robot |
The most important information you
get here is the health points the animal has. This is
how much damage you have to inflict to kill the animal. |
|
Tame animal |
The tame animals also show who
owners name, Which taming level the animal has (1,2 or
3). How much it trusts the owner. When the pet needs to
be fed next time. |
What can I use the information for?
The scanner is useful before you go in to a PvP fight. If you
scan your opponent you will know if you have a chance or not.
You can scan a new mob you meet to see if it's any idea to try
to kill it. The big problem with this is that you need to stand
close to the target to scan so you will learn fast anyway if you
did have any chance or not. If you see a lonely tame animal you
can learn who it belongs to. Or you just use it to peek at
people to see what kind of clothes they are wearing. The last
thing you can use the scanner to do is to gain skills. Since you
get skill almost every attempt you use it you will skill fast.
And the more skill you have the better is your avatar. You don't
know which skill is used in which calculation.
How close do I need to be to scan?
With the TT scanner you has a range of 35 meters and then you
can buy craftet scanners with better range. There are scanners
with a range up to 80 meters. To bad that one will cost you
something like 400 PED
Good luck!
