Weapon attachment guide

You can improve the efficiency of your fire arms. An attachment is a gadget you put on your weapon and it comes in three different kinds; amplifier, laser sight and precision scope.

Amplifier: Adds extra power to your gun. Most of the amps uses 1 ammo cell to boost the power of your hit. If your gun would make 5 in damage an amp 103 will add 12 to that so the damage will be 17 instead.(5+12=17) . Be aware that the amp only can give you maximum 50% of the guns full damage potential. Check your weapons power and the amp's and compare.

Laser sight. A laser sight will give you an skill increase when used. When you use a skill it will add a percentage for you. For example you have put on an Casar Laser sight that gives you 13,5 skill modification on your rifle, when you use your rifle skill it will work as it was 13.5% higher than you actually have. 2000 rifle would work like 2270 rifle. (2000 x 13,5%=2270).
You can have 2 lasers on your gun.

Precision scope. A scope will add both skill increase and a zoom function. You can use the zoom when you are in first person, roll the mouse wheel one more step forward. The skill modification works as with the laser sight.

Where do I get the attachments?
Usually the best way is to look in the auction. You can be lucky and find someone who sells in Port Atlantis, but in such case it's usually amplifiers, like amp 103. The easiest way is in the auction or if you find a shop. Check the shops on Treasure Island or up at CND.

When I have bought one, how do I put it on my gun?
To use the attachment you open your Inventory and press weapon button. Then you drag the attachment on to your gun. The gun should turn green. If it turns red you have experienced bug. Log off and then on again. If this doesn't help try to TP to another continent, this helps in some cases.

The laser and scope doesn’t use ammo, right?
When you are using the attachments, including the amplifier, they will decay. Decay means that they will be used, like loosing health points. When they reach nil they are broken. It's a bit annoying when the amplifier brakes in the middle of an Atrax attack. It's wise to always have an extra amplifier with you so that you can put on that instead of the broken.

I got a broken amplifier, what to do?
When an item is broken you go to a repair terminal. In there you can repair your broken items. To repair an attachment you need to de-attach it. Double-click on the gun with the attachments and they will leave the gun. Now you are able to drag them to the repair pane of the repair terminal.

How do I know which amp to put on which gun?
In your inventory you can right click your weapon and amplifier to see the statistics of it. Compare the guns full damage potential with the full boost potential of the amp. Don't forget to divide the guns damage with 2 to get the 50%,
Bad example  Good example

Can I have several attachments on my gun?
If you like you can use all three kinds of attachments on your gun; you can even put on two lasers. To get the second laser on you first put one laser on the scope and then put the scope and the second laser on the gun.

Will it really help me get more loot?
I'm not sure that the weapon attachments will help you; I have used them for months now to test if they help. An amplifier helps for sure to kill a mob faster, the laser makes you hit more and it looks like it makes you hit even harder than with only an amp. The scope is a puzzling item. I can't honest tell you that it makes your gun better. It give you the extra zoom function but it's very hard to tell if it makes you hit more or harder or the loots are better with or without. I think you will have to find for your self. Do not forget that 7% of 100 is only 7 and 7% of 3000 is 210. The more skills you have the more help you get from the attachment.

I want to know more about the different attachments?
